Pastor Bruce was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and grew up in many parts of the United States and Europe. He has a Master of Divinity degree from Yale Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Andover Newton Theological School. He is a clinical member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
He has served United Methodist churches in southern New England for 40 years. He and his wife Karen have two children, and live in Wayland.
